  • problem with grass displacement

    http://niksoft3d.coolfreepages.com/n.../vrayforum.htm

Take a look at the shadows in the grass, why is that happening?

This is WIP so any comments and critics are really welcome.

            hey...
            now i see...

i think he mean the large dark triangles on the grass...
is your grass disp is apllied on a mesh which do not have coplanar polygons ? then maybe try meshsmooth before putting your displacement ...
            otherwise no clue!

            cheers

I had the same problem with Archicad en disp.
So I think that your"grass-plane" is not made in Max. Just delete it and make a new "Max-plane"

... or maybe you have a plane ( with tree mapping on it ) that is out of the view...well you don't see it.. and he don't have "affect shadow" ON ????
                  maybe

                  cheers

hey guys thanks for the replys, those shadows in the grass should not be there, I am using a extruded shape is not exactly a rectangle so that´s were the problem begins , the Meshsmooth is a great tip I hear of that somewhere I forgot thanks a lot everybody.

Are you using planar mapping? Use box mapping it gets rid of the problem.
