      Very nice

I think the label on the wine could be a little glossier and maybe displace it's wrinkles a bit.

          hi there

i think it's the heavy dof or the blured hdr environment what makes it look like a toy

Stellar is right ! no DOF and change the background for one that has a true scale...
            Nothing to do !
For the rest it is absolutly a pleasure to look at them...

            Bye !

thanks ...had a feeling that the DOF was mucking it up.
will try and post one in an environment.

here the environment with the engine posted bfore...
not finished.I ve added a platform next to it...
the rendering is a draft.but still no lights in the scene.

want some serious C&C to get it right.

Looking really great. The paint does look a little too sharp for the amount of wear on it though. It's almost as if it was old and someone put a clear coat over the entire thing. That old train paint always seems to have a wavy bump to it also.

ok...this image rendered with an environment.
                    same ngine as above.
                    some fog thrown in.
                    but now it looks CG.
what can i do to really crack it?

Man, those texture maps look really great. Do you take/ make them yourself? But now you've gone to the other extreme and completely removed any specular from the engine (unless that's a little in the shadows?). I think it should be there but just in the correct places. A little blurr and a wavy noise bump might do the trick. Do you have a reference photo? If not try Google image search.

                        Hi,

                        very nice work this engine.
I have a similar problem with a jepp at the moment.
Objects that are heavily refelcting look always nice but
like toys and a non reflecting objects are always looking too "thin"
for a real objects. Sometimes it helps just to take a look at a
real photo to see where dark parts are coming out and what kind
of contrast several objects have.Your engine is a bit to flat in the last
image with fog and environment. I think you need more contrasted
parts on your object, some parts can easily turn very dark and
others can get much more lighter.
Its hard and i know what i am talking about, i am also working on
combinations of real images and 3d objects, so everything has to look
                        as real as possible.

Very nice work so go on............
