  • Adaptive lights Rock! (Vray 3.5)

So I'm testing some of the new 3.5 features, and the adaptive and probabilistic lighting settings are AMAZING! Here is the same render with and without adaptive lighting enabled. The difference in render time is astounding. 6.5 minutes versus 29.5 minutes! (a lot of it from bogging down in the dense foliage, but even with the foliage turned off, the render times were nearly double for full lighting evaluation)

How many actual lights are in your scene out of interest?

I've got 134 lights in the scene. Mostly sphere lights, a handful of spot lights, and a dome light. I have adaptive set at 30 lights.

        That's a pretty impressive reduction

What number do u use on probabilistic lighting settings and whats your light amount in that scene?

EDIT: nevermind, for some reason I only saw the first message of the thread
