  • VrScans Test: Car Interior

Here is our first test of the VrScans. Every material except the carpet, floor mats, glass and the perforated leather on the sterring wheel is a VrScan. I really like them, and handling couldn't be easier. This is the image as it came out of the render. No postwork whatsoever. Link to full res below the image.

did you have also the scan of the water drops??

Nice result!!! I really like it!

I think it could be helpful an estimation for the shading&texturing time saving with the scanned materials.

Are you able to estimate it?

No, the droplets were done using a combination of Forest Pack for the droplets, and a displacement map for the drops running down.
It is hard to tell the time saving, because I already have an extensive library for car interiors. In this case, loading my own materials versus the scanned materials is about the same. However, the VrScans have a very nice feature to automatically set the scaling with a single click. And of course they look way better. There is just so much detail in it!
