  • Very early kitchen WIP

    Hi guys,

Here's the first early wip where I put everything in white first to adjust my lighting before applying the materials. It's an approach..

    Okay...

How can I get more detail in the shadows?
It's like the island is floating.

What does the trick. More subdivs in the vray lights ? DOn't think so.
I have only 2 vray lights...

I have IR and Lightmap in second...

    Thx for helping me out.

    Nicolaas

I've noticed lightmapping default settings really wash out shadow details. What is your secondary light muliplier set at? Try lowering it a bit maybe (.7-..

You need to also be careful of your color mapping settings. If you set the dark multiplier very high your shadows in corners will be washed out.

BBullo: I have default settings for lightmap and my second bounce is 0,5. Dunno what I should tweak here.. I did a lot but don't notice anything.

TRGRAPHICS: They are both set to 1, default HSV exp.

I have an update as well. What can be improved here please ?...

Come on Percy... don't flatter me... Gimme some kicks.. hehe..

Is it me or whatever.. I don't like the details of the shadows.. Some of the objects float a little bit... Or should I just render it out bigger 1600x1200.

well its pretty early. but yeah Id model those things instead of bitmaps. same goes for the recessed lighting on the ceiling. never seen someone use a bitmap of a recessed lighting.

You see that's what I mean.. I don't get the detail on my rendering of what I actually modeled.

                          How can I improve this..
                          ??

try directly computing your lights... that will pick up so much more detail.

mail me the scene and i'll see if i can set it up.
