    Thx guys

    The white plate now is wood... the previous render was not completed!

    For dish, I grabbed a photo of it and in photoshop i made the alpha image

    Please... help me!!
    Now i can't no more open my scene!!!

    Appear a dialog box that says:

    "The application has run out of memory and will now close.
    Do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene?"

    WHY MY VIRTUAL MEMORY CAN'T BE USED????

        It doesn't matter how much memory you have (real or virtual) Windows can only asign 1GB to any processes, or up to 1.7GB if you use the "/3G switch" in windows XP, search the forums for the "ulimate 3G switch thread"

          actually i happened to use more than 2,5gb after doing the 3gb trick.

            you can use more total, but each process still caps out at 1.7GB

            I was running into this just yesterday with a rendering involving speedtree. While preparing the objects Vray and Max would crash at 1.7GB when the 3G switch was on. My total usage was over 2G, but 3dsmax.exe was using 1.7

                  This is how it works:

                  Start > Config > Control Panel > System
                  Go to the Advanced Tab
                  Click "Settings" in Startup and Recovery
                  Click "Edit" to edit the options file manually

                  (It should look similar to this one - each computer is unique):

                  [boot loader]
                  timeout=30
                  default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
                  [operating systems]
                  multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Micros oft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

                  Create a copy of the last line, add information between quoted and add the
                  switch to the first line:

                  [boot loader]
                  timeout=30
                  default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
                  [operating systems]
                  multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Micros oft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
                  multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Micros oft Windows XP Professional 3GB" /fastdetect 3GB

                  Change the timeout to something different than 0 if yours is 0 so you have time to choice among options at boot time.

                  Save the file and reboot. Choose the 3GB option when rebooting. If it
                  doesn't work, you can reboot again and choose the other option, and your
                  system should work fine. I. This should give MAX or any other single process you are running the ability to use up to 3GB of memory, allowing you to render bigger scenes.

                          im using windows 2000, does this have the same memory allocation problem?

                          im going to have to move to XP soon anyway due to a bug in win2k with sp4 and viz4 corrupting files (or else format and only put SP3 on)
