here i send you some WIP from my diploma with some ugly errors (like the texture of the streetside areas where the ramps are going down. also the displacementmap für the yellow sun-protector. also the yellow material needs more translucence)
the area under the wellnesshall (with the boxes) isn't constructed right now... also the interior is right now really ugly

but i am open for any critic go on and critisize all of it...

by the way: if someone has time to help me putting in some stuff inside like fitnessmachines in the basement or like designing furniture-exhibitions in the front of the building or put some stuff in the flats on top of the buliding.... or put some (white) people in or in the office area... then you are welcome, because i am running out of time. i also have to build a physic-modell and all this stuff is for a long animation, so it all need to have low polygons and less of texture....

yes this project is at osthafen, between universal / spreespeicher and mtv... mtv is the smaller building. this ugly water is like real i also have done a lot for surrounding, but this was just for test

these are just some pictures smaller made out of maybe 400 pictures choosen the sections i rendered a lot of (300) just to be sure to get all right and find errors i animate all the sections later for this project...[/quote]

Is this for your diploma on architecture?

Well, gonna critic something arhcitecture related, i dont see any reason to use those angled columns.

Its not for structural reasons, obviously, because you have the first level cantilevered already at the same distance as it would be the last floor (roof) without the angled columns, besides, you could solve that cantilever easily.

So, im thinking, you use the angled columns for a facade solution (a formal issue not structural), but we see that your facade isnt angled, but vertical.

So It looks more like the angled columns are more a fancy solution than a structural or formal one.

Now, about the CG, the renders looks good!, the final result will sure look great.

Water is really nice, i would forget those yellow sheets. Nice building by the way, back facade is a bit boring for me.

Can you explain why when looking at the side facing land the left side looks as if it's built for short people? I'm sure there is something I'm missing but just curious

the angled colums are neccessary, because i want the basement-floor going inside and no columns outside, so i decided to pull them inside... the problem is, that these bring horizontally forces into the slab and half of the slab is a 50m swimmingpool. so ih have to make a weired construction under this pool, otherwise i would get a lot of problems with the water and the proofing of the pool.., nor sure if this could be understand?

i need these colomns there because the fassade has steel-ropes hanging down an be pulled with springs, to get a high tension in the fassade... so there are a lot of different forces there...

but sure, its a formal solution

maybe because of the buildings beside, who are a bit popular (?) in berlin if i would have the universal building shown also... (next time) then more people would be able to recognize this, i guess the small one is the building of m-tv germany, which they use since this year. the yellow sheets... i am not sure about and the displacementmapping was wrong maybe its a bit too coloured...

the building is seperated at this side in an office trect with 3.5 m height and on the other side a exhibition and selling tract, where the height is 5,25 m... in the wellnessarea, the height is 5,25... so you can use the emergency-stairs from all parts because 2x1,75 is 3,50 m and 3x 1,75 ist 5,25 m....

the whole building height is around 40 m... the length is 123 m and the witdh is arounf 41 m... so it is a nice huge building, i guess....

Yeah thats why i am asking. Could be in Budapest too. But I thought it was because of the colour of the Spree
The yellow just dont fit to berlin, my opinion. Of course I am not a berliner kindl, just blabbing here.
Hmm i was just one time in Berlin and I love that city, i can post you an image sleeping in metroberlin.

sure, why not? lets share berlin-pics at this site... i have around 2500 pictures around osthafen but it could take a while, should i make them smaller or are 5 mpixel ok? *lol*

I just bought an 8 megapixel cybershot cam. 5 sounds funny for me

i wil post after my diploma i guess some photomontages with my model inside here, but first i have to modell on and start the first animations for my dvd... my diploma should be a 25 min dvd with maybe 8 min animation. maybe 3 to 5 min video and rest are explanation with zooming and paning in drawings...

maybe i will put a divx on my server, if someone is interested....
