I'm thinking it's just a piece of art... a wall decoration, if you will.

If you look at some of the other accessories on that website, some of them don't make much functional sense. At least not without some kind of context.

correct me if I'm wrong but, They aren't using the word minimalist correctly (in an art context anyways) minimalism was the idea that what you see in front of you was enough information to understand the thing, no going to outside resourses (Carl andre). maybe it's different from a designers standpoint ? It looks very Modern to me.

The render is good, the design is....intriguing...but it is deffinately not minimalist
