  • WIP: light study "Church of light"

I've been trying to light this masterpiece by the famous japanese architect Tadao Ando. I find it very hard to use fill lights because of the way the exterior and interior meet.
This was done with skylight + direct light only.
Im working with another version with some fill lights will post that too.
Dunno why the benches got so blotchy, i've been using some glossies on them but might've set the subdivisions too low.

Your concrete seems a bit too "dirty" to be an Ando building. He uses a lot of steel formwork so he can get a super-smooth finish. I would try to even out the diffuse map and lower the bump to almost nothing on the concrete surface (keep it for the joint lines).

the lighting is looking very nice so far...

    shane.

What resolution is the texture on the benches?
