    Hi guys,
Anybody out there have any advice on why I'm getting some strange shadows from my v-ray lights in this image. The lights are all in front of the actual fittings and they are saved with the gi map and also smooth surface shadows is turned on. I've tried not saving them with the gi map but then the render takes forever.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance,

    TD

      hi Natty,
Thanks for the fast reply, the gi settings where set to the medium presets and the interp setting was 10 for the calc pass and then changed to 100 for the actual render.

      Cheers,

well that will do nothing apart from produce low looking gi and a long render time .... ? can i ask why are you changing the interp settings after the imap calcs?

          Hi Natty,
Unfortunately still a bit of a newbie, but I went through one of the tutorials related to the sponza cathedral and it was done there so I have been carrying on doing the same thing.
          ( am I really stupid ?).

          Cheers

I tried that once and it didn't work too well.

I am not sure but i remember that those settings are for animation, not for highres stills.

hi .... for starter's you should re-calc your map ..and try these setting's.
your's will be a little different... but follow the basics....
