Well, its not yet a vray related work, but im beginning to make some textures and materials.

It was a mixture of the military humvee and the civilian H1, but i decided to stick with the military version.

Those hummers are great. Well modeled!

well.. the model is maybe 75% finished from being a military hummer
and maybe 55% from being what i want to make out of it.

But still i was too anxious to try and texture some parts.

                lol
Well it should be rust, its only preliminary but it will look something like that.
It looks fine on the map itself but isn't that great on the render, but the render consisted only of a button click. I'll work on it later.

I spent quite some time as a humvee driver in the military, and dont recall ever seeing rust on really any part of the frame. The frame is either a type of fiberglass/carbonfiber and aluminum I think. Either way, it has a coating of whats called CARC or Chemical Agent Reactive Coating. Which is a fancy paint designed to combat the rusting caused by some chemical agents. My point? The rust looks out of place...hehe

it depends on the portion of the humvee. Also I never drove those "MP" type of humvees, but the standard ragtop types. I heard that the doors were reinforced kevlar, though. Though I spent some time as a command driver, I was a grunt too... TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN, COMBAT READY!!!
