    my attempt at aluminum, I think it's close I think.
    also playing with dof
    (the floor is from maxer, thanks man)
    just a little color/light correction in PS
    it's a close up of the mechanism for a sculpture/object i'm thinking about.

                i like the floor. i figured it was one of those plastic tile floors and that kinda looks like the resin or something.

                      well i would like to say the floor is supposed to be plastic but I just screwed up on my bump and reflection ( i kind of liked the look of it though as that vynil floor thrown down in peoples kitchens)

                      the render took forever, 6 hours 2048*1556

                      the settings are really simple, no lights, HDRI in both gi and reflect/refract that's it. hehe.
                      IR first all default except I dropped Interp samples to 10
                      QMC second
                      cook Variable AA adaptive subdivision default.
                      the thing that was interesting me was the camera settings
                      the dof is .1, center bias -2 (I think that setting is really low as I can't really see it)

                        oh yah if anyone is interested the aluminum is a shellac

                        the settings are

                        I just moved some numbers around from deetee's compilation.mat file
                        it's his carpaint gloss layer.
