  • pumps arn't very Rock n'roll

But since I almost never ever posted enything here I figured that a interior of a pumpstation in the center of Stockholm would be a good start.
There are some artifacts in the floor on the right.
not sure it its dof or other problem. anyway that area was coverd by other graphics in the print so I didn't worry.

    hit me hard

    Lights are amazing
    Tile and floor look great
Only things I don't like are the red paint (not reflective enough) and the dark grey "pumps?" (too flat)

Looks good! I agree about the paint. More glossy reflections. Of course you also have to have the time to render all those glossy reflections.

Very nice details! I really like these types of mechanical renders.

        Thanks

Yes the pumps are a bit flat I must agree. The red paint however is quite reflective. Look at the part behind the wheel on the left fitting the pipe on the wall. It 's just that the other red stuff is all out of focus. Ok maybe I could up it some, just a bit.

Any idea what the artifacts in the floor on the right might be? Not high enough Irrmap?

Personally I prefer images that I can't take a picture of with a camera....

Maybe larger lights or reflective panels could make the highlight on your paint more pronounced.

              You may.

They are Vray-lights. Each pair of flouresant light are replaced by one V-ray light. You can see it if you look closely.

I actually tried other lightsetups as well but I was short of time (2 days including measuring and taking reference images) so I made a production decision and went with the Vray lights.

I wanted the tubes to emit their own light but looked like crap. Don't know why. Why is it so had to get a decent light emitting custum modelled object?

Trapezium: I have modelled the entire rom the way it is. I would probably use your suggestion if I was to make a (one) new pic. (that's the quick fix). But I'd rather change the materials so that I can pick any angle and get a nice render. (not a studio setup).

              thanks for the feedback folks.
