  • Caustics and the new objectivity

This was a try to achive clear, detailed caustics.

Unfortuneatly, my computer don't allow me to send out as many photons as I would need to reduce all of the noise without bluring the caustics too much.

The Style is pointed toward the appearance of product shots during the "new objectivity" (I dont know if this is the correct translation for "neue sachlichkeit").

    Tell me what you think..

hojun: I think a liquid would lead to less crisp caustics and I like the more simple appearance without wine. And there are many wine-glass-renderings out there

natty: You are right. I tweaked them down a bit in ps
Its a more striking impact with more contrast. I also passed on area shadows for this reason.

well.. "transparent shadows" should help here
however - natty has stolen my words.

ich würde "neue sachlichkeit" übrigens auch mit "new objectivity" übersetzen.
(i also would translate "neue sachlichkeit" with "new objectivity")

So, this was the original rendering, just out of max.

Do you guys think, the shadows have to be even more transparent?
If I would use a brighter bg color, they would be..

              cheers

have you got 'effect shadows' checked in your glass material?
