    be kind, i'm still new to vray and this is the first real scene that hasnt been a "test" so far. the ship firing is a pirate brig while the camera is from the rear of a merchant sloop being overtaken at twilight.

    Personally...I think its great. I love that you didn't try to make this look real and made it art. My only crit is the composition and perhaps a little more texture detail on the background ship. For the composition try stretching that light post up to the top left corner and slide the ship to the right and move it further back so it fills up less of the frame. Nice work!

      Maybe a tinny bit more variety in the firing sparks with some reds and the ships could use a little roll to them.

          It has great potential but you're not there yet. You should really improve your lighting and materials, it doesnt have to photoreal but needs to have spirit and depth.
