    exteriors so far.. early design.. 3days.. new model night before due, you all know the drill its just the first non-realtime 3d work I've had in ages.. so figured I'd post!

    nice work ...especially for the time you had...a couple questions?


    are the yellow columns supposed to faceted?

    is your brick displaced?

    and how did you do the reflection of the sky in the windows....is it a sky map in the environment channel of the glass mat, or is it a sky bitmap maped on a dome?....or spherical?....I always seem to have trouble with those kinda reflections to come out right....

      No, they're not really supposed to be faceted.. it just happened to have the same concrete mat on it that i used in the back of the building on a displacement panel system! (Facets make displacement usable when you're doing 90ish degree angles.)

      yep, displaced brick.. mix'd with the displaced 4" reveals also..

      and its just a skydome.. with the top sliced off just out of the camera to allow some light from the override skylight to come through. the reflections is more the material of the glass i believe.. which is just a falloff map with the spline adjusted slightly.

        I also wonder if you could've done somethiong about the terrain bump area in the second pic, with the dark grass...right now because of that dark grass versus the light green one everywhere else, it's kinda of distracting......maybe a more subtle color, closer to the rest of the light grass could help that blend more with the rest....

          yea, that was meant to be a planted area with flowers/whatever but got cut due to modeling reworking.. that'll end up a lot different in 'Round 2' i'm sure
