  • karting circuit central building - exterior

    Hi all,

Here's a very early WIP of my first real arch viz job.

It's a building next to a karting circuit (not shown here). Modeling is very basic and this will remain basic.

Please comment on the lighting, exteriors seem more difficult than interiors!

    kind regards,

    flipside

    ps:
here's the same after post proc in PS:

Does this look too yellow/green on your monitor? On my LCD it's good balance (yellower than the unprocessed one but not too much) and on my CRT it is too yellow/green. Difference is pretty big...

I like the second one, It looks warmer, like it should in the sun. Very nice start so far.

Im assuming you are going to add the track and some cars? Animation?

yes, same here..the second one has a nice subtle warmth to it....

is your lighting just a spot+GI or did you have to add aditional lights oon the back side?

good work, can't wait to see the rest..

          thanks for the comments!

The light grey glossy material is just a vraymat with grey diffuse, some reflection and glossy set to 0.8 I believe. For closer shots I put a bump map on it like on the dark grey material, but if I do it with low resolution I get heavy moire patterns I couldn't get rid of.

Lighting is just direct spot with skylight and GI turned on. Settings are a bit like deneb's exterior settings, tweaked for this scene.

I will not add karts but I will add the track and do a camera animation (view from the pilot in the kart). (project should be finished by next thursday so I'm not going to model a kart, if you have one please let me know

          regards,

wouter (gonna start using my real name from now on!)

I also like the second one but you mite want to try adding a little more blue to the sky light to cool off the shadows a little.

Comments are welcome, although I will not be changing anything (too late for that).

Very nice Flipside Looks like a lot of fun. Trees are a bit uniform, but that's not too big of an issue. Where is the starting line/grid?
