  • WIP - An interior with some trouble

    Hi,

I've been trying almost everything but that blotch on the middle (on the wall-ceiling intersection, slitly to the right) won't go away. A solution, anyone?
And, an other question, how would you illuminate the back of the corridor with out artificial illumination? It's very dark there.

    I uploaded the .max file:

    Thanks in advanced.
    Guido.

here is an other image without furniture.

I have to say that irr map is at low. but I've tried at preset high and it changed nothing. I think it has to do with Photons, but don't know what exactely.

Which version of vray are you using?

I rendered your scene with your settings with 1.46.02 and there was no problem with light leaks. Your settings are very low for such a small render. That could be part of your problem on your machine. Check "sample visibility" this will help for low settings and light leaks.

Also you have 4 windows but only one vray light in one window. Put a light in each window and adjust the light settings for each under "system". Increase the diffuse subdivision to around 600 or more when you use photons. I would also increase the number of bounces to 20 and set the retrace threshold to two.

the walls dopnt actually meet the ceiling, have them overlap eachother and it should work fine.

This is a quick render I did of the scene. 4 minutes to render.

I didn't change any walls in the model. They look fine to me.

IT WORKED!!! It was the Retrace threshold!! Thanks Tony.
In every post in the forum they say leave retrace threshold to 0
When I took deffuse subdivs (light settings) to 600 it was worst. With bounces to 20 too.
Then I got exited and took Retrace threshold to 4, and that was even better!!
                  What is Retrace threshold anyway??

Ridestowe: yeah, at first I thought the problem was the walls. But I've played with them and got allways the same result .

                  Thanks a lot, guys!!
