  • Character WIP (Female Nudity)

    Been working on her for a week or so now. Trying to refine the modeling and basic shader at this point. The shader is a Shellac and only uses the new Highlight in the VRayMat with no Translucency. I'm about to start on the custom diffuse map and specular once I finalize a few more modeling details. C&C welcomed.

            Hi Jon,

            I thin her proportions are a bit off. The lower legs seem too short and her hips seem enormeous. And I find the transition from the upper leg to her but a bit harsh/pinched.

            But maybe I say too much with no character modeling experience at all

              The face, kinda plastic, reminds me of reeves too!
              Also, she looks like she could easily give birth to 15 children.

                Trapezium their are some anatomical errors. For modeling i suggest you go to a modeling/scupturing forum

                As far as the shader goes though, its looking alright, i see alot of splotchyness on sreen right of the head. For some parts of the face it may be as shinny as the leg, but the legs do not have that much oil on them to make that much of a highlight.

                Granted you can make the SSS like shaders right, you will never be able to get the glossy reflections to work right without making a custom map for the whole body.

                  Thanks for the comments everyone, very helpful Great Forum there lordshaitan, really like the way it's set up I've been looking for something like this, thanks. The shader is only a base now and like I said I do plan on making custom maps but wanted to get the modeling and base shader down first of course.

                    I'll probably post a basic example when I get done refining it and before I start on my custom maps. Let me just finish up this modeling and tweak the shader some then maybe my method will make sense when I explain it. Still haven't decided if I'm going to try adding Translucency to her yet though.

                    Here's a quick update on the head and I've found a better model for the body so I should be on my way to finishing that in a few days.
