  • My dead fish problem

Hi all, hmm I’ll begin by saying that I’m very new to using v-ray. Started few months ago, and have been using max for a year now

That’s a small fish for mobiles to hang, hmm its almost 1cm in size
And I couldn’t take picture of it so I scanned it, that’s why it looks too bright
Anyway, there is a bump problem as you can see on the wood itself
It’s around the fish only but its not spreading like it should be.

    Using max 7 with v-ray 1.09.03r
There is no special setting or anything just really high quality HDRImage
Render time around 13 minutes I think

Looks like that fish has a "diamond" type IOR, like a prism. Vray doesnt seperate the light waves. YOu will have to render this in passes. One pass with one IOR + caustics, another different IOR, and A third with Another.

The bump will not show up clearly where GI light is very uniform. It only shows up in areas where GI light has more variety, as in the areas around your fish. Read this thread about it:

Sorry about my off the wall comment. I was so tired when i posted this, I didnt even read what you were asking. I just assumed you wanted the sparkle that was in the orig.
