  • Apartment exterior WIP

This is an apartment complex in Canyon Springs, TX, I was trying to do the golf green in the lower part of the image but as usual, no time to finish it. Hope you guys like it.

That's fantastic. Loving the grass...is it a photomontage, or is that displaced grass???

              re

Looks really good. For the Golf course in goes Fairwair(short grass), first cut(little taller grass) then the rough( the tall grass you lose your ball in...this is where I spend most of my time.

Shytigercp, You're completely right about the golf course, I'm not much of a golf player my self but I was trying to get a last minute golf course and I guess it was more difficult than I thought.

Pengo, the trees are from got3d, I got those at turbosquid and I think those were the summer collection.
As for the grass I mixed two different grass bitmaps to avoid tilling and added some displacement.

Your grass is superb!! I do think the buildings could be a little bit brighter though.

could u explain if u desaturated the color of maps for the grass or how you got so sweet color?

                      thank in advance

The material was a simple 50%-50% mix of this bitmaps, no desaturation just the light settings of the scene

The first bitmap was for the changing shades of green, so the uvw map had to be much larger. The second one was the one I used for the displacement.

Are the trees bitmaps on planes? They are quite nice. The grass is excellent!

Overall a very nice image, congrats!
