  • Hair Salon W.I.P.

Hi this is very much a W.I.P., not my design but even when not taking the design in mind I am very disappointed with the rendering and just don't know where I am going wrong.

Once I have more time I will upload more detail on the process and hopefully gets this image on the right track.

I the mean time if you spot any obvious problems please feel free to comment.

    Thanks

    It's chaos in that room!

What are all these bright spots all over the place (walls etc)?
Materials look weird (especially the red).
Light on the celing is burnt out a lot, what lights are you using there?
Are you using interpolated glossies on the pillar? I would avoid that, it usually looks dirty imo.
It doesn't look like there's gi in the scene, something's really wrong.

i think it might be a good idea to give the whole scene a plain grey vray material and concentrate on getting the lighting right before adding and colours / reflective surfaces.

are you using any standard or raytraced mats in the scene at the moment?

as a side note; i'm not sure if those aeron office chairs are a very good idea for a hair salon... might be a bit tricky to get all the hair out of the holes and pivots etc!

I'm having difficulties reading even your 3ds file...

I would suggest removing all materials and setup the lighting from scratch. Don't use ies from the start. Put maybe a large vraylight near the ceiling with store with IR map ON. Start adding lights, try with IES and see if it works.

        Only use vraymaterials.

Tweak the lighting (balance between spots and large vray light for example).

        Hope this helps a bit...

From the moment you add something and weird stuff starts happening, you know what causes the problem. Also check your model for coplanar faces.
