design is plain....HORRIBLE. and i dont mean to be rude, i base myself in premises that every architect should observe:
1. architecture in the project doesnt blend with the enviroment, such as a small town in south america i pressume, making of it a bulding that could be anywhere and yelling the selfishness of the architect.
2. the building does not respond to a real need, in such a poor place, naming for instance, flowing water, it seems to me that the least thing a town as this needs is a surreal building of pure forms inside of wich you can have a conference, because it is a conference room, right? or might just as well be a cinema...you can never know.
i pressume this is the work of a student, or someone who apparently goes by the rule of making of architecture not a response of a need but indeed a showcase of the maker.
if we can take this project and put it anywhere else and fits, then it just doesnt belong, by consequence lacks of true bond with the enviroment.
those who admire such architects as lloyd wright will understand what i mean.
we have to be carefull not to stumble into ourselves, as artists.
and now, the renderings, without taking architecture into account, are flat, and non informative, you can clearly see that the main goal was to attonish the client, rather to involve him to the project.
im sorry if i offended you, wasnt personal at all, its just what i think,
i happen to teach architectural projects and renderings five years now in Puebla, mexico, in the Universidad Iberoamericana, wich is a respected unversity in this country, and have seen this kind of architectural response very often.
life can only be understood in reverse
but must be lived forwards
the opening pattern on the walls seems to reference the old brickwork of the surroundings in my opinion and i think it is a deliberate bold statement, while referencing the environment. I think its quite good , but looks like a uni project (where everyone wants to make a bold statment)
try get it passed by a council tho :P
i think the deliberate unfinished look is good too
Paulison:
I m affraid this is to be built in a few months now
and its NOt a student project
also its not my own

i must say i was not able to read your post...it was too hilarious...i see ur making quite a fuss...but i must agree in some points with u...
i have 2 things i can tell u - 1 this is a project for a antropology museum requested by the city council. 2 the needs of one population its not all about water or food or all the basics u must also feed ur mind...?and maybe somebody will feel supported in some way if they have a new building in the village wich brings new people and can also use by them for movies meetings or even dancing...?
well there s a 3...it s not my own design i m part of a team of architects who like to work and to respond to our clients....
and i admire lyod....i admire his work and respect it...
Architecture: Cant really critic based only on the info we see, but so far i find it great, just some minor details, for example: whats the main entrance?, is it that tunnel like on the public square?, if it is I owulda do it the other way, a recesed cube on the building, just like if it were another perforation.
Render: awesome, plain simple, but great, I do not like the 2 interiors, really, you shoulda work more on those, specially the ATRIUM one where we should see all those shadows projected by the perforations of the facade.
yes i read....and yes i laugh....it amuses me that other things, more important, can be ...i believe that regarding it as a box with holes could be too straight forward...too strict....i suppose u should not be so blind with ur believes(not the right word but anyway)...
i am truly amused with the thread, but i think its heading way off topic...
Who was the architect again?.. It looks like either Swiss or Spanish architecture, but may be a "copy"?..
Somebody definitely seems to have lend an eye to herzog&demeuron (the pixellated facade and volumetric architectue), as I can't bring myself to believe this is really H&dM?
Anyway it's really refreshing to see more conceptual vray stuff.. While most of it impressive I tend to dislike the forced realism in a lot of the arch viz'ing around.
3rd pic (interior shot with small openings) does not look correct. there is too much ambient light for such a space with very small openings. please look at interior pictures of Le Corb's Ronchamp chapel to see what i mean. there should be a higher contrast of dark and light .
