  • xmas-card (w.i.p.) - updated once -

I am making this x-mas card for my company.
Let me know what you think about this. At the right side of the image there will be some text.

(Known problems: mapping of the second T and the ugly drip of wax, which will either be adjusted or removed and moremblur samples.)

Excellent! Have you tried lighting the scene only by the candles? Just curious to see how it would look...

          Gijs, that's great!

I think you really need to explain how you did the candles...

            Thanks for the comments,

            here is an update.

We found the candles attracted to much attention. Mblur improved.

To Nenad: that's what I first tried. But then either you get very unrealistic candle light or completely blown out candles.

To Wouter: Candles are glossy refractive with gradient map for both transparency color as diffuse color. I did not use SSS.

It's kind of dark, isn't it?
              Not very happy?
Candles look good. Dont know about the aqua green-blue - seems to be of different mode than the rest.

                Hi, great picture.

I've been Having a heck of a time with a realistic flame... Are those self illum objects, or did you do something tricky for them?

The flames are a picture on a plane with an opacity channel. I used a standard material for this because it has more options to blend it in the image. Also this map has an output to it. Here is a better candle example rendered with it:

Really nice. I have a question to you.
How did you do the wax material? It is very very nice and reallistic.
                        Thanks in advance
