    Hi
    I like it
Water is great, but I don't like the boat colour.
I think it is too dark in interior and your palm trees don't have shadow

The roof confuses me, my brain wants to think snow..
It may actually be snow??? It seems like the guy to the left is actually trying to heat up his one hand.
How do palmtrees take to frost?

The boards on the pier are a bit out of scale it seems and the colour scheme for the buildings has been seen prettier, but I take it's been dictated?

      cheers,
      K.

        yep, Nice water..

The integration of your character is well made as well..
Buildings are well detailed, but colors are, well, a little bit to present let's say.

thanks for the replys. the docks are not finished as yet. the roofs neither. they will be a more beige permaclad aluminium roof when its finished, the coconut trees do have a shadow. its to the right of the tree you can see the darker area there. As for the colors. none of those are set. those are just the colors on the elevations that the architects sent me. i need to put in the little sales booths in that courtyard and more plants in the grassy areas. then add the hills in the background. anyone have any tricks for hills with foliage for background other than using an image?

kinda got the forested hills in. now just need to create some stuff to hide the base of the hills. just got a simple plane with grass on it there. still alot unfinished like the roofs etc. (can you see the coconut trees shadow now? hehe)

just created a spline where i wanted the water. extruded it. then the bump map is a mix of smoke and noise. i used an egz glass material converted to vray material then fine tunes the fog amount to get the right look.

                  here it is

Perhaps this is an ignorant question - but why a spline instead of a plane?

Because of the shape I guess...

the roofs came out pretty decent. took alot of tweeking of the displacement map before i figured out how to get it to render with crashing due to memory. realised the precision was too high for those kinda things
