    Illumination test from last night

    the latest 08 version, ~8hrs renderingtime on 2x2.8 xeon. Irradiance + Lightmap. Grain and some colour correction done in post.

    nice. i like the grain on the walls.
    is it procedural or mapped?

    what's the material on the torus?

        natty: The settings are "everything at 1000%", i just did anotherone with lower settings, 50 minutes, 99% like the one above, my bad. but i just wanted to see what a thing looks like with top-notch settings.

        sOreal: its just a simple bitmap that comes with 3dstudio, Grycon3.jpg, no bump or anything.
        The material on the torus is a shellec with 1 material that is red&glossy and the other standard fresnel reflections. i would have though it would come out a little bit different, but when i saw it in the tests i though it looked rather nice...

            The material setting of the teapot is just 100% reflection...not much to share...

                i added the grain in after effects, 55MM i think the plugin was called
