This is an offshore wave energy plant, rendered in 08, about 2.5 hrs rendering time. grain and some colour correction in post. the waterfoam is also post. hope you guys like.
The image got a little bit too crisp when i scaled it down from the original resolution, hence the oversharp AA.

That thing realy make energy? Does it work on swinging balasts or something? or does it rotate?

Looks great. The lighting on the water and the structure match well. I don't really like how the waves are breaking on it though. What did you use for the waves?

How do they enter it once they land? I think they might strap the chopper down to some tie downs on the pad too.

Now that's strange... I'm working on something very similar rigth now. I'm doing an Offshore Windpark with a lot of Fans. Later i wanted to do some Wave-Powerplants too. I will post the pics when i feel comfortable with them. Your Pic looks great. I like the rottened concrete style. Only the breaking waves could be better. (I'm doing the Ocean with Dreamscape, what are you using?)

Water is done with dreamscape, but there is no interaction with the mesh or anything, just found a seed that fit about right...

Yes it makes energy, supposed to be quite effective, dont know much about the inner workings though..

It looks pretty good, but the scale of the water ripples seems too large compared to the scale of the helicopter.

kedojo: im rendering another one with some smaller ripples (to make the structure look bigger) but the wavesize is actually too calm, the structure is to be placed in the north sea with waves of maybe 15-20 meters, huge.
