Many times I have seen in this forum people asking about why they had red dots on their images. I never had had that problem before, but on this particular work, rendered with Vray 1.46.09, I've got the taste of it.
Now the explanation everyone gives for this to happen is because of the use of raytrace material, raytraceshadow or even standard max material...well my friends I haven't got any of those, so please let me know if there his any other reason.

What are your texture maps? Do you use any 3rd party textures? If you can simplify the scene (i.e. include as few objects as possible while still getting the effect) you can send it to me at vlado@chaossw.com

Some users have had this problem with the Color Correct plugin with some particular settings.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      hi vlado,
I am using Simbiont for the brown tiles. Do you thing that might be it? I'll render the scene without this material, if I still get these red dots I'll send you the file. Never the less simbiont shouldn't be a problem since this version of Vray is said to work well with it.

ok! I've rendered the scene without the simbiont texture...guess what?! No red dots. I am a bit sad because simbiont is very handy when you don't have much time for textures, but I'll live with it.

It's probably not exactly Simbiont... which 3dsmax version are you using?

Well...I guess the problem is max 7 (bitmap cropping), but has you don't get that option when using simbiont textures I decided to get rid of them.
So here is what I've got:

nice rendering...I think the shadow shouldn't be too sharp, beacuse the light is passing thru the glass block!!...I'd try to improve that!!!
                  show me the money!!

there should be a very blur shadow...but i would try to increase the light bounces...everything else is great....

Thank you for the comments. I'll fix that shadow and post a new image.

BTW, if you used a camera correction modifier (it looks like you did), you should Uncheck the "Max-compatible ShadeContext" option in the System rollout; it may have been the cause of the red dots.

                        Best regards,
                        Vlado

                          Hi vlado!
I did use camera correction, but I didn't know about that little detail. I am back from holidays so I'll Uncheck the "Max-compatible ShadeContext" and also correct some of the aspects that have been pointed out by the other members.
