Hello folks, this is my first post... as well as my first Max model/VRay render. It's a work in progress:

    - I'm still experimenting with materials... but I've got a good start on some of them, and think I have a good final material for some
    - I have yet to add an environment, which means there's not a lot of reflection happening
    - I realize the edges of the body need some beveling... being new to modeling... I got caught in the dreaded Boolean trap... so the wireframe is an absolute mess... I'll be remodelling the body and using more sensible methods of doing things
    - I havent spent a lot of time on the rendering settings... and I'm still tweaking the materials, so any advice on this would be WONDERFUL!

Ok, a little background on this beast:
    - Built in 1991
    - only around 340 of this model were built
    - the only Universe with a maple neck
    - has the "Disappearing Pyramid" neck inlay

    Fun fun!

    Thanks!

        NICE!!!!
I remember when this came out.
Steve Vai is the man. It was designed and built for him. I think it was called the GEM.
I guess six strings were just too easy for him to play.
Didn't the origional have a handle carved into the body?

Ya the original and most of the current 6-string JEM's have the "Monkey Grip" in them... I think there was only one model of 7 string that had them though... the original models they made for Steve Vai.
