  • winter day versus summer eve

I thought to make this a new post since the previous winter only was so old. Comparison is below.

I'm still trying to understand how to best include the images in the new forum. Can anyone say what's the difference between "share photos" and "upload attachment"? Is one better than the other? I will try upload attachment - full size for this.

Nice work, I prefer the summer one to the winter and really two things I can pick at are the fire in the winter one looks odd to me and the map on the eves-trough in both looks out of place to me but then again never seen one like that so take it with a grain of salt. Good job.

thank you Dave. Yep the fire in the winter is not good, esp when compared to summer. It's better in the summer thanks to you pointing me to the Cg-axis fireplace models and materials, which I purchased and used for the summer scene.

Ah ok I see it now, its similar here, actually when I saw you posting renders a long time ago I thought you were near me as the terrain looks very similar here in Alberta as it does in CO

fun side note: while I was photographing the summer backplate the 40 somethingth annual Bluegrasss fest was happening in the town park immediately below. 10k people, big deal. The Sam Bush band was playing and as I got finished up hey were doing a tribute to Greg Allman, Whipping Post. Nice bonus for the photo shoot.
