  • Indian Chieftain 2015

I've been wanting to make this model for some time and finally I've finished it The HDRI used is from HDRI Haven (https://hdrihaven.com).Some parts were detailed in ZBrush, and the small indian head on the front fender was modelled in ZBrush.

Nice model! Your lighting though seems quite off though. Did you use the HDRI for lighting or just backdrop? Maybe try using a dome-light with the HDRI as the light source.

I completely agree with Andy. Very nice model, but the lighting seems not to match. Just try to use the dome light with HDRI lighting.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback! It's more than welcome

Yeah in these two images the floor and background are completely different from the HDRI which I used for lighting and reflections. I also used 2 area lights to boost the lighting. So it doesn't match this environment at all It's just a backdrop I comped in with Fusion8 (they are actually 2 different backplates btw), because I couldn't get the HDRI to work well as a background due to placement and scale issues. I also had tried with a domelight but it didn't work for me either. I tried a lot of things but in the end opted for this solution, in which I am plugging the HDRI into the world node for GI, reflections, refractions, etc. So yeah, lighting doesn't match in these, but it was more about showing the model and putting it in some sort of environment on the ground and with an appropriate sense of scale.

If you visit the artstation link there are more photos, the last two are using the same HDRI as a Background since I somehow managed with those two views to get something I could use. Even so I am adding some extra lighting besides the HDRI.

        Thanks again for the feedback!
