  • WIP - Another interior attempt

    Hi guys,

Here's another shot at rendering an interior trying out the stuff I've learned about materials, camera, etc.

    regards,

Looks like you're making some good progress! One thing though, I wonder if your fill light is too strong, the lighting seems too even. It looks like there is hardly any light coming from the skylights, the sloped ceiling should be darker relative to the walls. Keep going!

Thanks a lot Andy. Boy have you got a sharp eye! I do have an area light filling out the space from behind the camera. I'm going to check its intensity. I did run some tests with lower values and things got all blueish from the sky/sun. But I get what you mean about having some more contrast. More progress soon... to the batmobile!

      Once more, thanks for commenting.

      regards,

Next attempt, lowered the fill light's power considerably.
One question Andy, when printing, don't these darker areas print too dark? How do you handle this situation?

        regards,

I had the glossiness of the glass material set to black, hence there weren't any reflections on it. more tests.

It's definitely looking more realistic now, good adjustment. I would work on increasing the exposure now, let the sunlit areas get brighter to where they're almost blown out. Then use the vfb controls to bring down the highlights, and/or adjust your color mapping settings by lowering the highlight value.
