  • Hebe Albicans

    Hey guys,

Just had a project that stalled for a few days so decided to use the spare time to create some plants (lavender and hebe) that I suspected might be used in the landscaping plan; the only reason for doing this myself was that so many of the plants available on the market at the moment are fairly "residential" looking, and not the kind of hardy shrubs that I am often in need of, and also one of quality. I plan on doing many, many more (time permitting).

These look great, nice work! Did you model them from scratch in max, or use GrowFX?

I find Hebe of various varieties getting specified for housing development planting schemes all the time, but have never managed to source a decent model. I tend to use something from Evermotion that looks vaguely similar and it hasn't been spotted yet.

If you decide to sell them, especially if you make more species, let me know, as I'd definitely be interested.

I've modelled them from scratch with GrowFX; it's time consuming stuff, but very satisfying when you finish it. I think the hardest part (in my opinion) is getting the branching as close to real life as possible within the bush/tree - because even though you don't see it, it has a massive impact on the final shape of it.

I have been toying with the idea of selling them, but I'd need to build up a bit of a catalogue first I think.
