I had done this project earlier this year and posted it to this forum. It was a summer scene. I was not happy with the landscaping, trees too saturated, grass not that good esp at edges. I got a chance to improve it and while I was doing that I decided to make Autumn version). Trying to get better at using Forest Pack.

Hey, i think you might have the "self shadow/fake shadow" ticked in FP.
By default its set that way.
When i use FP i always do this from the beginning and make sure FP is not using fake shadows and that the object is allowed to cast shadows over its own elements.
Youd be surprised what difference it makes

Hi Martin, I was not aware of the "self shadow/fake/shadow" in FP, thanks for pointing that out. Reading the FP docs it sounds as if that only applies to X trees made with bitmaps on planes. All the FP stuff in my scene is 3D mesh.

I tested by rendering one with the tick box un-checked. Using A | B comparison in the VFB I see no difference.

I had only tested that on the trees. I just tested it on the meadow grass and still no difference. Maybe the grass you are using is made in a way that this matters but the grass i'm using (FP preset Meadow>Golden Marigold) does not?

Do you feel there is some shadow effect missing in the meadow grass on the images?
