  • My Mobile Disc - Material study

    Hey all.

I am currently learning Vray and basically the use of materials. I decided to have a look at glossy reflections yesterday and modelled my (oldschool) 256 mobile USB pen.

I used the same settings as natty on his lamp (cheers mate ) but i seem to quite alot of noise on the edges. I use no bump or spec map, just glossy reflections. AA 0 2 - Both Catmull Rom and Area filtering produced the same flaws (if that is what they are).

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Well, in different scenes, different settings work. What might have worked in natty's scene, might not work here. What is the subdivs of the reflections? What are the irmaps settings?
    Best Regards,

      see this...

      Nice modeling.

Have a peek at this post. The material used on the geometry in the post is perhaps what you're after for your experiment.
