I came across this benchmark of the new Ryzen 3000 CPUs. Pretty impressive. In cinebench the 12 core Ryzen 3900x beats the 16 Core Threadripper 2950x as well as the Intel 18 Core 7980XE. It' s only beaten by the Intel 9980XE wich costs 4 times as much and the 32core Threadripper. Once the 16 core Ryzen 3000 is released in September it will probabely also smoke the 9980XE.

I think about to upgrade my hardware within the next months and the 3950X specs looks promising. At the moment I use a DualXeon E5-2687w0 and 2x2080ti+1x1080ti. I ask me how could be a 3950X power PC be looking? My two 2080ti are 2,5 slot cards. For easier future upgrades I think about to buy a PCIe 4 mainboard. A MSI X570 Godlike is quite expensive and I suppose so two 2,5slot cards can be direct used only, the other two slots could be used per extension cable only.

    Doe's someone have some recommendations for a 3950x machine - mainmoard, memory, ... ?

(I hope to use GPU rendering most, but I'm not sure, how often I need to switch to CPU rendering because missing features.)
