    Thank you. I started out with the idea of adding a notebook to a small network of a few average PCs as my 3ds Max "solution". But after input such as yours I ended up spending more and getting a Threadripper 3970x with 128GB RAM. Though I spent a lot more I have a much better solution. This TR is allowing me to actually accomplish what I've been wanting to do for a long time since I am not waiting weeks for a rendered scene and it handles the viewports much faster as well. So putting most of my eggs in one basket is working well.
    Just wanted to say thanks.

        where did you get this info from? I'm trying to weigh up which route to go so this would be helpful to look at, thx.

          The remark about the Threadripper vs 2x Titan RTX makes no sense at all. He's comparing CPU to GPU. So it depends on which programs you use, what kind of scenes you build and what you do with them. For 3ds Max + Vray it makes no sense at all to go for 2xTitan RTX and a weaker CPU compared to a Threadripper 3900 series and 1 RTX card. I'd suggest checking out the information provided here;
