Amd gpu?

So despite the fact that it's nearly impossible to snag a decent card in my part of the world I am curious to hear some opinions on the following:

If I don't use GPU rendering, and knowing I will have to give up the Nvidia denoiser for IPR rendering, can anyone give me a reason to go a 3070 over the 6800XT?
(The sites in my region are quoting the same price for an RTX3070 and a 6800XT)

Actually there is the Intel denoiser in recent builds; it's CPU but still AI-based and pretty decent.

I think given the fact that my new cpu will be 4-5x faster than my current, I am content with using a cpu based denoiser. I did some quick tests with the Intel one and it does seem quite competent! To your knowledge, is the nvidia denoiser significantly faster?

Which CPU have you gone for? Also, is the Vray denoiser different to the Intel and Nvidia denoiser?

Less painterly than the Nvidia one. Seems very similar in appearance to the stock chaosgroup one, but I'll let Vlado tell us about it...Vlado?

if you need it just to run 3dsmax viewports an nvidia denoiser - save yourself some cash and look for gtx 1070/1080.

Yeah that might be a more reasonable move considering prices and availability...
