  • Nvidia RTX A6000 vs RTX 3090? Tensor cores vs RT cores

Ok, so I was very happy when I 3090 came out and I bought a founders edition. I was planning on upgrading to a blower version so that I could stack the GPUs. (The blower versions blow the air behind the case, so they can be stacked. They also only take up 2 slots, while my founders edition takes up 3 slots. There is not much room for expansion if it isn't a blower card.)
The issue is that Nvidia is working with companies to discontinue their 3090 blower cards, so that creative professionals and miners would have to invest in their Quadro cards (which are all blower cards). The Quadro cards are over triple the price, but I am really confused with the specs. The spec differences can be seen here: Roundup Review: NVIDA A6000 - 48GB Vs GeForce RTX 3090 - 24GB - Workstation , Mobile workstations, Macs and Laptops on Rental :: Globalnettech

The 3090 has much more Tensor cores, while the A6000 has many more RTX cores. Which card would be better for V-Ray 5? The VRAM in both cards is sufficient.

Quadro vs gamming card existe since allmost 2 decades and the supprematie of quadro have never been proove.
If you want to run it 24h/ - 7/7 then go for quadro, otherwhise keep going with gamming card like the majority of CG artist.
I used to have quadro card and that really not worth the price, keeping in mind that the best pro card will be outdated in a years and half and nobody want to invest 10K€ every 18 months.

Quadros are not worth the money until you "really" need them. Cause like mentioned above you run it 24h and need the extra vram.
