2 rtx 3090 (2nd gpu hanging buckets.)

Hello,

I have a gigabyte turbo rtx 3090 and asus turbo rtx3090 on a z570 with 5950X and 96gb runing houdini using a corsair 1000 and 750 psu, i have a scene that starts to render fine, but the 2nd gpu hangs after about 15min rendering the frame.

any ideas how to debug it? No overclocking the gpu's.

750 Watts PSU
did I read this right ?
You gonna need 1200 Watts minimum for this build.. Running the system on 750 PSU will harm your Mobo and GPUs, and benchmarks will be pretty bad

I have a 1000 watts psu for the pc and 1 gpu and another 750 hooked up to the other gpu.

How do you get the second PSU to start?
24 pin splitter?
Can you share your Vray benchmark scores here, RTX and Cuda, just to know where to start the troubleshooting

Yes i use a 24pin splitter

Test results are
gpu + cpu cuda
4165 vpaths

rtx gpu NO OC

So some more updates on the tesing of this scene.
there no hanging buckets when rendered at
Settings 1..
min subs 1
max subs 10
noise 0.02

Settings 2..
min subs 1
max subs 24
noise 0.02

but it hangs at
min subs 1
max subs 40
noise 0.02

testing continues... This must be scene specific as i tried a different scene/file with
min subs 1
max subs 60
noise 0.02
and rendered fine...

nvdia 471.11 driver, vray houdini 5.1

Your scores are pretty good honestly, I think the GPUs are fine
It is strange this renders fine with other scenes, probably best to upload the scene to support in the GPU section
