Additional GPU to a 3080

Hi,
I'm seeking advise on how to speed up my GPU rendering in Rhino, I have a Ryzen 5950 with a 3080 gpu and want to add another gpu but have recently read you can't NVlink a 3080, so does that mean I will have no gains if I add another GPU. If yes would a 750 watt psu suffice.

Hi Miles,

You are right, 3080 does not support NVlink, but NVlink only means that the 2 GPUs cannot share the VRAM to become 8+8 = 16GB VRAM.

You will still get almost double rendering speed.

I think 750w might not be enough for 2 GPUs , and you also need to make sure your case has enough space, and good enough air flow. I have 2xRTX 3080ti, and can barely fit anything else inside.

Faster rendering speed is the objective so this is good news. I will also upgrade the PSU to a 1000w, is that what you have?
I have a large case so room won't be a problem.
