  • Using two GPUs is slower

    Hi there,

Would anyone know why using 2 GPU's would cause slower render times? Im using two 3090s. With a single GPU render times are around 9 seconds for my scene. With both selected its about 12 seconds. The RTX Vray Benchmark works fine as my score doubles when both are selected. NVlLINK/SLI is not being used.

    Hey sean_brown

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier, as mentioned before you will need a scene that takes +5 minutes to render for accurate performance testing
Keep in mind that V-Ray GPU takes a few seconds to move the scene assets to your VRAM, this time is staying the same whether you use one or 2 cards for rendering.

I have some Maya scenes you can use for your performance testing if you get a hold of 2 cards again, let me know if you need those scenes

    Best,
    Muhammed

Hi Muhammed_Hamed , Yes I'd love it if you can send me those scenes. That way I'll know for sure my dual GPUs will be running right with a proper scene to test. Thanks!
