  • Configuring a new workstation with 2x RTX A6000

    Hi guys,

Setting up a new workstation for 3dsmax and V-Ray rendering, (also Lumion).
I was wondering what will be your recommended NVIDIA settings for getting the best performance/result for viewport and rendering?
Also, compared to a single GPU system, are there any other settings to change within V-Ray for a dual GPU system?

    Specs:
    HP Z8 G4
CPU: 2x Intel Xeon Gold 6258R
    GPU: 2x NVIDIA RTX A6000
No NV Link (should I get one?)

-Go to Nvidia Control panel, Manage 3D settings, set Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum performance
-Then in the same tab swap OpenGL rendering GPU to your first A6000, instead of being on Auto-Select

-You can use the device selector in 3Ds Max or start menu to set your rendering devices, look for Select Devices for GPU rendering in start menu

Yes if you work with massive scenes, you will be able to pool GPU memory between your 2 GPUs for nearly 90 GB of memory. Now you have access to 48 GB of GPU memory only
