Hello,
I would like advice on setting up render nodes. Our workflow is V-Ray for Rhino and Maya. Currently we use Swarm and i'm trying to set up a render farm for animation in Maya.
We currently have dual Xeon with dual A6000 gpus.
We are looking at purchasing render nodes. For the price of our current workstations, I could set up 1 render node with Threadripper Pro (24-core) and dual RTX 4090 and have money left over.
OR
For the price of that TR/dual 4090, I could get 2 nodes of Intel 13900K with 1 4090.
My question is, for Rhino and Maya rendering in V-ray, is it better to have 1 powerful node or 2 nodes?
The normal thinking for a render farm is the more nodes, the more powerful it is. But as I watch Swarm work vs Maya or Max network rendering, it seems that having more nodes is better.
Thanks in advance
