  • Rtx a5000

    Hi Muhhamed

I use 2 2080 ti with nvlink, but right now 21 or 20 gb of vram is not enought.

So im thinking to buy the rtx A5000 because has 24 of vram, has 8100 cudas of ampere

The main reason to buy the A5000 instead of the 3090 is that A5000 consume 230 wats while rtx 3090 takes 370 wats.

Also the A5000 only use one cable with 8 pin conector while rtx 3090 needs 3 cables with 8 pin.

I have in my workstation a 800 wats platinum source of power, so i want to keep 1 2080 ti for my 4k monitor and just leave the A5000 to render.

I dont want to buy another source of power with more wats or more energy just to install the 3090, because i will have to disconect everything again and almost build averything again

I just want to take off one of the 2080ti and install the new A5000

    Seems a nice option Muhhamed!!!

It has 24 of vram, nice power 8100 cudas of ampere generation and does not consume too much power, it does not get as Hot as the 3090.

Also it is a bit smaller than the geforce cards

Since this is a very proffesional card, because it is a cuadro card.

Also if i want to use vantage in the future this can works really nice because it has a nice rtx power.

The main thing is that it only use 1, 8 pin conector (230 wats) and has 24 of vram.

Also i forgot to mention that it is cheeper than the 3090 it cost like 1600 dollards the A5000 while rtx 3090 cost like 2000 dollards

What do you think about it?
How does it works with vray the cuadro cards?
and about the drivers how big is the difference with drivers between cuadro cards and geforce cards?

    Thanks in advance Muhhamed

    Best regards Luis Gamino

Hi, thanks for posting. According to the V-Ray Benchmark score the RTX3090 and the A5000 have similar performance with V-Ra GPU with the RTX3090 being slightly faster.
