  • How to detect hardware related issues when using V-Ray GPU/Vantage?

I’ve been experiencing several issues with V-Ray GPU and Vantage. While I suspect some may be software-related, I want to rule out hardware problems such as insufficient RAM, overheating, or power issues.

Although I’ve built my rig with some help, I’m not a hardware expert. I’d greatly appreciate any guidance on how to check for these potential issues

    Hardware specs:

    Windows 11 Home 23H2
    AsRock B550 PG Velocita
    AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 Ghz
    Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 64 GB (2x32GB) 3200 Mhz
Gigabyte RTX 4090 GAMING OC 24G
    Seasonic Focus V3 GX-1000, 1000W 80+ Gold

Hi santiago_gutirrezdepierespedraza and welcome to the forums,

Please use GPU-Z to monitor temperature for the GPU, it should be below 80 degrees during rendering. At 81 degrees, GPUs will start to thermal throttle
You can also monitor GPU memory usage, if you reach close to the 24 GB limit of your GPU this could affect stability or performance
GPU power draw, could also be helpful. It should be above 250 watts for your 4090

Let me know if you have any questions, I have a guide on using GPU-Z for monitoring I linked above.

    Best,
    Muhammed
