  • 3090 vs 4090 - for viewport in huge archviz scenes in 3ds max

Did anymone compare 3090 vs 4090 for viewport in huge archviz scenes in 3Ds max with milions and milions of poly?
We use 3090 at our office and I was wonder if there is any reason to upgrade GPU to 4090.

    Yes,

I tried on my side, it seems there is not a big difference. Most likely the CPU(single-threaded performance) is the bottleneck in big scenes, I'm using a 7950X Ryzen
Do you have a scene you want me to test for you?

    Best,

Sorry to ask here, what do you mean by "CPU(single-threaded performance) is the bottleneck in big scenes"? is this mean 7950x cannot handle huge interior and exterior scene?

The 7950X has really good single Threaded performance, it will perform better in viewport(and other daily tasks) than other older generation CPUs or Threadrippers. This if you have a 3090 or 4090 GPU
What I mean is that better CPU with good single threaded performance = better viewport performance
