  • Rendering image sequences?

Woohooo! First day of GPU rendering on 9 x 480

Will it eventually be possible to use Vray RT GPU to render out sequences of images? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it will be possible to use RT GPU with Backburner to render animations.. I'm guessing that this functionality will be available when Vray 2.0 is released, right?

Bloody hell. I bet that flies doesn't it???? Can we see something?
    Kind Regards,

Right now you can't use backburner, but you can use the provided script to do a DR rendering (go to Rendering > Make V-Ray RT animation preview). We are working on making V-Ray RT compatible as a production renderer, but it's still not there.

          Umm...I thought that was a typo - 9 x 480!! Umm..I'm gonna go change my pants now..thanks.

What kind of setup are you running? The max PCI 2.0 slots I can find in ATX form factor is 6 slots.

I am assuming that is distributed across multiple machines with a GTX480 in them.

Yes, each GPU is installed on seperate i7 systems - they use somewhere around 3-4k watt when at full load

I have looked in the rendering menu, but can't seem to find the option you mention?

Ah, sorry looks like I added it there manually - go to Customize > Customize user interface > Choose the "VRay" category; drag the "Render an animation preview with V-Ray RT" to any menu you like.

                  Best regards,

Rendering > Make Vray-RT Animation preview U need to have set Vray as ur render ofc, other way it wont pop up..

Hi, Just installed RT GPU on my laptop, and now I do see it under the rendering menu... For some reason this option was not added automatically on my workstation.. Anyway, I'll just drag it in from customize like suggested

Vlado, it seems that when rendering a sequence using the preview script, it doesn't render with the correct 3ds Max gamma setting..

                          What are your gamma settings?

I work in 2.2, but it looks to me like the script is outputting 1.0

Yes, still, can you show me the 3ds Max gamma settings?
