    hi

I am new to GPU RT

-whats the best GPU hardware for RT today?

-if I have a board with 4gpu and each have 2 gb of memory can I "use" 8gb or 2gb ?

-can I use RT as a production renderer in beta or Vray2.0 ?

    thx
    andre

    Andre,

    1. Currently, only the nVidea cards have OpenCL support that works with RT/GPU. The card(s) you pick will depend on the amount of RAM you need, as well as price concerns, etc. The GTX 480 seems to be quite popular at this early juncture, but you must watch RAM considerations (see below).

    2. Each GPU needs to load the entire scene, so in your case, if you have a scene that takes over 2gb, only the 8gb GPU can be used.

    3. Don't see why not, Vlado?

    Hope this helps,

    -Alan

It was not in the original plan, but if there is demand for it, we can certainly rethink it.
