  • 3rd Party plugins & Textures

Very impressed with the speed so far.

Just wanted to know if there are plans to support 3rd party textures & plugins?

Also will native procedural maps be supported at some point?

    Thanks,
    Olly

I already added some partial support for the gamma parameters of the Color Correct and ColorCorrection textures for the next build, as lots of people use them. Beyond that it really depends - procedurals will slow things down somewhat, so it's a bit of a balance thing.

How about having the option to enable procedurals?

Can I put in a request to support "multitexture"? I know many others out there use it a lot in their workflow...

      Cheers,
      Olly

wouldn't it be possibe to convert procedural maps to bitmaps at the compile stage, at least 2d procedurals?
similar how i can use rendermap() in maxscript to create a bitmap snapshot of any map tree.

Yes, it is possible, of course; but will slow down the translation phase.

                - falloff
                - noise
                - gradient ramp
                - cellular

These maps are essential for me. I use them in 99% of all projects.

And very important is the VRayBlend Material!!! Mostly used for car paint materials.
